For the last 36 years, Mustang High School's woodworking classes have made and sold gavels to the governor of Oklahoma.

The governors have then presented the gavels to the incoming economic development team leaders, a news release stated.

When Mustang's students deliver the gavel, they receive a tour of the state Capitol and the Governor's Mansion, and they meet the representatives and senators for the Mustang area.
