'Easy W': Hamidou Diallo issues challenge on Twitter during NBA dunk contest

CHICAGO -- Sent in the middle of the NBA dunk contest, the Tweet from 2019 dunk champion Hamidou Diallo read like a challenge.

“This would’ve been an easy W,” the post on the Thunder guard's verified Twitter account said.

But Aaron Gordon and Derrick Jones Jr. were just getting started. Jones won in overtime, finally claiming the trophy in the second round of a dunk-off.

Gordon and Jones both scored perfect 50s to kick off the tie-breaking round. Then Jones leaped from half a step inside the free throw line and slammed down a one-handed jam. He scored a 48.

Gordon then called 7-foot-5 Celtics rookie Tacko Fall out of the crowd. Gordon positioned Fall next to the basket, telling him to bow his head and hold the ball on top. Gordon then jumped over Fall, grabbed the ball out of his hands and dunked with both hands. The crowd went wild. But Gordon scored a 47.
