Land Information Services LLC has named Jim Shaw president and chief operating officer. Company founder Wade Brawley will continue serving the company as CEO and chief financial officer. Shaw has served LIS for more than seven years in a variety of capacities, most recently as executive vice president, overseeing software development and client implementations.
BKD CPAs & Advisors has promoted Rob Opitz to national practice leader of BKD Energy & Natural Resources Practice and has added Alex Bowers, Jose Chavez, Isaac McCaslin and Holly Shaw as associates with the audit & assurance team. Opitz has more than 25 years of experience serving clients in the oil and gas industry. Before joining BKD in 2018, he served as managing partner and head of tax for a firm in Fort Worth, Texas. Bowers, a returning BKD intern, also interned with a local, publicly traded bank. She is a 2019 graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University with a bachelor's degree in professional accountancy. Chavez worked during school as a mortgage loan closer at a community bank and also interned there. He is a 2019 graduate of East Central University with master's and bachelor's degrees in accounting. He also received a certificate in banking and finance from ECU. McCaslin has prior professional experience as accountant with an oilfield services company and also interned with a multistate retailer in the risk management department and with a United States Representative. He is a 2017 graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor's degree in accounting. Shaw, a returning BKD intern, worked during school as an AP/AR clerk with a multistate retailer. She is a 2019 graduate of OU with a master's degree in accounting and a 2011 graduate of Strayer University with an associate's degree in accounting.
Dr. C. Eric Howell has joined SSM Health Medical Group's SSM Health Heart & Vascular Care clinic in Oklahoma City. Howell is a long-standing member of the SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital medical staff. Board-certified in thoracic surgery, Howell graduated with a degree in biology from the University of Texas at Arlington before earning his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. He completed general surgery and thoracic surgery training at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, after which he served three years as assistant professor in thoracic surgery. Additionally, during residency, he completed a research fellowship at the National Heart and Lung Institute in London. He has served in the past as a flight surgeon in the U.S. Air Force Reserve, earning the Air Force Meritorious Achievement Medal.
Noel Williams, DDS, has joined Grand Dental Studio. Williams attended Emory University and went on to University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry. He joins Dr. Michael Kirk, managing partner of Grand Dental Studio.
McAfee & Taft has announced that Daniela Delgado has joined the firm as a paralegal for the firm’s Intellectual Property Group. Delgado previously worked as a senior operations and compliance executive for a multinational marketing company, a litigation claims specialist for a leading U.S.-based insurance company and a bilingual field interviewer for a global research company. Her prior career experience also includes working as a foreign license verification registry program assistant and an aircraft registry program assistant for the Federal Aviation Administration. Delgado has bachelor’s degrees in international studies and sociology/criminology and a master’s degree in human relations from the University of Oklahoma.
Seth Sloan recently joined Crowe & Dunlevy as an associate in the firm’s Dallas office. A graduate of Oklahoma City University School of Law, Sloan is a member of the firm’s Bankruptcy & Creditor’s Rights, Corporate & Securities and Litigation & Trial Practice Groups. Sloan earned his undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University.
