Trump’s deficient State of the Union speech
The Constitution requires the president to occasionally report to Congress “Information” and “Measures” for its consideration. Trump’s recent State of the Union was deficient in both. First, he announced no legislative measures or initiatives. Trump promised the best and cheapest health care plan ever, but he has put forth no initiative, no plan. Instead he has attempted to dismantle the Affordable Care Act, including protections for pre-existing conditions. Trump’s newest proposal seeks to eliminate Medicaid benefits for millions of low-income people and hospitals that serve them.
The second requirement, information, was sadly missing the truth. His boastful lies about his economy (versus Obama’s “decaying economy”) have been fact-checked repeatedly and he still repeats them. He boasts about jobs but his first 35 months have produced fewer jobs than Obama’s last 35 months. He boasts about stock market gains of 47%, but Obama had a 53% gain in his first three years while digging us out of the Great Recession.
Trump’s biggest “gains” that he avoids boasting about are his deficits and national debt. CBO’s estimate of the deficit for 2020 is now $8 billion more than was projected in August 2019. The national debt is now projected to explode from $17.9 trillion to $31.4 trillion — or 98% of GDP — by 2030. That is catastrophic; Trump was shrewd in not boasting about it.

Trump’s reaction to acquittal not surprising
Shocking but not surprising! This is how I see President Trump acting following his acquittal. The operative word is “acquittal” for not meeting the threshold of impeachment – he was not exonerated from his crimes. He is still guilty to a lower level.
I say shocking because of the manner in which he is treating those who testified to the truth of events surrounding the impeachment articles. They were merely being loyal Americans. Sen. Mitt Romney’s treatment not only by the president but his fellow Republicans is disgraceful. Un-American at the very least. This followed by the U.S. ambassador to the European Union, Gordon Sondland, being recalled because of his testimony. Most revealing was the firing of Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman by the National Security Council. All because he testified against Trump.
For patriots serving America, their loyalty is to America, not an individual or political party. The Republican Party is the new “Mafia” in America. Republican lawmakers are afraid of Trump. They are not likely to disagree with the “boss” and get “punished.”
Wake up America! Be courageous. Vote based on American values not party lines.

Trump has become Whiner in Chief
Why are my fellow military and religious right supporting Donald Trump with his failure of moral and military/foreign affairs leadership? He never attends church, never shows a Christian thought or deed. He has stolen $8 billion from Department of Defense funding, $2.5 billion from military/family housing construction, to fund the wall that was to be paid by Mexico. He sent 6,000 troops to the border, ripping these troops from families.
Swamp cleanup? Corrupt spending by several Cabinet secretaries. Arrested: Stone, Manafort, Cohen, Flynn, Gates, Papadopoulos. Impeached: Trump.
He has no grasp of foreign affairs and has alienated NATO allies, demonstrating no understanding of crucial NATO history and importance. He prefers friendship with autocratic tyrants from Russia, Turkey, China. He incompetently made a Mideast peace agreement without Palestinians. He left the Pacific trade agreement, leaving China unchallenged in the area. He abandoned the excellent Iran nuclear agreement, as experts and allies told Trump, again thinking with his spine. Now, they have resumed all operations. So, we have Russia in the Mideast, China in Africa and the Pacific.
There is little need to speak of his lack of moral leadership and all that the United States formerly held dear, or of the two-hour workday or 261 days golfing so far. Handed life on a silver platter, he’s angry he doesn’t have everything and has become our Whiner in Chief!

Pelosi should head back to California
The speaker of the U.S. House should resign and head back to California. She has become nothing more than a partisan mouthpiece for the ultra-liberal fringe of the Democratic Party. She has a deep and abiding disdain for our elected president and is incapable of working on bipartisan issues. The president’s accomplishments are indisputable and there is much more that can be accomplished this year and in following years. The Democrats need to get to work doing America’s business and stop trying to remove our duly elected president through lies and patently false accusations.
In November, the electorate will make the choice for our future. It is time to work collaboratively to build our future and fix the problems that face the country. The speaker should stop wasting our time and taxpayer dollars in the near term with baseless investigations. Let’s get rational leadership restored to the Democrats in the House.
