OU Chorale to present requiem, Adam Pajan guest organist

NORMAN — Gabriel Fauré’s "Requiem Opus 48" will be performed by the University of Oklahoma School of Music at 7:30 p.m. Thursday on the OU Norman campus.

The concert will be in Gothic Hall of Catlett Music Center, 500 W Boyd St.

School of Music professor Richard Zielinski will serve as conductor, while Adam Pajan will be guest organist.

Presented as part of the Sutton Concert Series, the program will begin with Pajan performing "Sicilenne" from Maurice Durufle’s Suite pour Orgue Opus 5. The "Requiem" by Fauré will feature soloists Ashely Carr, soprano, and Matthew Reynolds, bass-baritone. Following will be an audience singalong of well-known hymns, including "Take My Hand, Precious Lord" and "It Is Well With My Soul." The program will conclude with the OU Chorale performing Roy Ringwald’s arrangement of "Deep River" and Shawn Kirchner’s "Unclouded Day."
