Thunder injury update: Darius Bazley out with right knee bone bruise
Thunder rookie Darius Bazley is expected to be sidelined for at least four weeks with a right knee bone bruise.
Bazley suffered the injury in the first quarter of the Thunder’s 112-111 loss to the Celtics Sunday. He was ruled out for the game with what the team originally identified as a knee sprain. On Monday, the Thunder determined that Bazley had suffered a bone bruise. He will be re-evaluated in four to six weeks, the team announced.
Bazley has played in all 53 of the Thunder’s games this season and made eight starts. He is averaging 4.5 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. His 35 blocks this season rank No. 3 among Thunder rookies all-time.
In his absence for three quarters Sunday, OKC reverted to small ball when starting power forward Danilo Gallinari was off the court. Hamidou Diallo filled in. Center Mike Muscala also has experience playing power forward.
