OSU football: Grad transfer Christian Holmes commits to Cowboys

STILLWATER — Missouri graduate transfer cornerback Christian Holmes announced Monday morning his intentions to join Oklahoma State in the fall.

The news had been floating around since OSU running back Chuba Hubbard had posted an Instagram message nearly two weeks ago welcoming Holmes to the program. But the Twitter message from Holmes made it official.

“Excited for this next step, can’t wait to be a part of the Cowboy family!” Holmes said.

Originally from Leland, Mississippi, Holmes offers immediate help at the only vacancy OSU has in its defensive starting lineup, the cornerback spot of recent graduate A.J. Green.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound senior started the past two seasons at Missouri, totaling 16 pass breakups and two interceptions.
