One dead in northwest Oklahoma City apartment fire

One person died Friday evening in a house fire in northwest Oklahoma City.

The adult male who died in the fire has yet to be identified.

Around 11:24 p.m. Friday in the 500 block of N. Rockwell, a fire erupted in a two-story apartment.

Firefighters were told about the possibility of an occupant still inside the apartment. While firefighters performed a search of the apartment, they found the victim in the bathroom, officials said.

No injuries to firefighters were reported.

Fire investigators and Oklahoma City Police are collaborating to determine the cause and the case currently remains under investigation. 

The contents and property damage are valued at $110,000 and considered a loss.
