High school girls basketball: Mount St. Mary's Kennedy Allison joins 1,000-point club
Kennedy Allison's January was filled with nothing but individual success.
In just her junior season, the Mount St. Mary forward joined the 1,000-point club with a 23-point performance in the Bethel loss on Friday. The feat came just two weeks after the 6-foot Rocket surpassed 500 career rebounds.
“Kennedy has developed into a complete scorer over the years,” Mount St. Mary coach Brandon Jackson said. “She came into high school as a really good post player, then developed a mid-range jump shot. Now, this year she is a complete scorer, inside and out. Post moves, 3s, and off the dribble."
It took Allison only 65 career games to accomplish the milestones. This season, she is averaging 17 points and 10 rebounds per game. A jump of nearly three points and three rebounds from her sophomore and freshman seasons.
“We worked really hard this past summer to turn her into a complete scorer all over the floor,” Jackson said. “She still has so much more room for growth as a scorer but also as an overall basketball player.”
