Business personal property tax returns due March 15
Business growth in Oklahoma County has County Assessor Larry Stein reminding business owners, including home-based businesses, to file their Business Personal Property Returns, Form 901, by March 15 with the county assessor’s office.
Copies of Form 901 are available online at okcoassessor.org or at the assessor’s office in the County Annexx Building, 320 Robert S. Kerr Ave., Room No. 313.
“Oklahoma County is blessed with a steady growth in new business, and I want all business owners, whether old or new, to know about the deadline for business personal property taxes," Stein said. "While businesses usually associate various taxes with the federal deadline of April 15, this rendering of business personal property — machinery, computers, furniture, fixtures — is required by March 15 each year, and we want to prevent penalties."
He added, "Assessors have no choice because the law is very clear if this deadline isn’t met: ‘All who fail to list all or any part of their personal property for the current year, on or before March 15, shall be delinquent.'"
