Oklahoma rig count stable

Baker Hughes reported Friday that the number of rigs drilling for oil and natural gas remained unchanged in Oklahoma this week, while the national count fell by two. Oklahoma's count this week is 53, down 73 from 126 one year ago.

Nationwide, the active rig count declined to 794, down 265 from 1,059 one year ago. The count for rigs drilling for oil increased by three, to 676. The number of rigs searching for natural gas declined by five, to 115. The number of miscellaneous rigs operating this week is three.

The number of rigs working in the Cana Woodford remained unchanged week-over-week, at 21. The most active basins this week, Baker Hughes said, are the Permian in west Texas and southeast New Mexico at 405, the south Texas Eagle Ford at 69, the Williston at 53, the Haynesville at 43 and the Marcellus at 40.

BKD Foundation donates $31K in OKC

BKD Foundation, the national CPA and advisory firm’s charitable arm, contributed about $31,200 to more than a dozen Oklahoma City-based charities last year, the group announced Friday.

Since inception, BKD Foundation has donated about $206,000 to charitable causes in Oklahoma City.

2019 recipients included Children’s Hospital Foundation, City Care, First Serve OKC, Girl Scouts Western Oklahoma, Mental Health Association Oklahoma, Myriad Gardens Foundation/Myriad Botanical Gardens, Neighborhood Services Organization, NewView Oklahoma, Pivot, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oklahoma City, United Way of Central Oklahoma, Upward Transitions and YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City.
