Take a sniff: Yankee's new candle scent of the year
You’ve probably heard about Pantone Color Institute’s yearly color of the year. This year, by the way, is Classic Blue and it’s already starting to wash over everything from décor to fashion.
Now comes Scent of the Year from Yankee Candle. This is the company’s second annual scent, following its 2019 debut. Yankee Candle partnered with trend experts in fashion, wellness, lifestyle and culture to learn what will matter most to customers in 2020.
“We've learned through our research for Scent of the Year that there is a significant cultural shift away from always wanting more: more options, more communication, more material clutter. Increasingly, people want to simplify their lives, unplug from the constant chatter of technology, and reconnect with themselves and with those they care about,” said Anna Whitton, vice president of marketing, The Yankee Candle Company. “Consumers are seeking out meaningful experiences that bring them a greater sense of self.”
The new scent is called Awaken with notes of driftwood and amber. Yankee says it was developed to inspire people to open their eyes to the simple beauty of the everyday, giving a clear, bright vision for the New Year. It responds to a yearning to be in the present, to embrace simplicity and transparency.
That’s a lot to expect from candle scent. Check it out at yankeecandle.com. At $29.95, it’s available for a limited time.
