Former Midwest City standout A.J. Hinch suspended a year

Former Midwest City High standout and current Houston Astros manager A.J. Hinch has been suspended for a year by Major League Baseball.

According to The Athletic, Hinch and Houston general manager Jeff Luhnow have been given one-year suspensions for their roles in illegally stealing signs during the Astros' 2017 World Series championship season.

Houston will also forfeit first- and second-round draft picks in 2020 and 2021 and will be fined $5 million.
