UCLA WR Theo Howard announces transfer to Oklahoma

NORMAN — Wide receiver Theo Howard appeared in just one game for UCLA in 2019.

He played against Oklahoma on Sept. 14 in the Rose Bowl.

Now, Howard is hoping to make a mark in his final collegiate season for the Sooners.

The expected graduate transfer announced his intention to transfer to the Sooners on Twitter and Instagram.

Howard redshirted this season with the Bruins after suffering a wrist injury in the preseason then sustaining a hand injury early in the season.

He led the Bruins with 677 yards receiving in 2018, scoring four touchdowns.

Howard didn't have a catch in this year's game against OU but had two catches for 53 yards for UCLA in the Sooners' 2018 win over the Bruins.

Howard's addition bolsters what looked to be a talented but inexperienced group of receivers for the Sooners. Charleston Rambo is Oklahoma's leading returner with 43 catches for 743 yards and five touchdowns last season. No other returning receiver had more than 19 catches.
