High school football: Matt Lane resigns at Little Axe
Little Axe will have plenty of changes when the 2020 season rolls around.
The Indians will be up in Class 3A and have a new head coach. Matt Lane, who spent three seasons at the school, resigned last month. This past year, the Indians went 3-7, winning their final game 49-48 against Star Spencer.
Lane went 13-18 during his three seasons, including a playoff appearance during his first season. Little Axe was in Class 3A that season but dropped a classification the previous two.
This season, Little Axe set a school record for rushing yards per game (269.7) with quarterback Collin Gibson and running back Caeden Guthary leading the way.
Lane came to Little Axe from U.S. Grant.
The Norman Transcript was first to report Lane's departure.
