Thunder: LiAngelo Ball joins Oklahoma City Blue as practice player

LiAngelo Ball, the middle brother of Lonzo and LaMelo Ball, has joined the Oklahoma City Blue as a practice player, a Thunder spokesman confirmed to The Oklahoman on Sunday.

LiAngelo Ball was seen at a Blue game Sunday afternoon in Oklahoma City. He joined the team as a practice player shortly after the G League Winter Showcase earlier this month.

It's routine for G League teams to bring in practice players. LiAngelo Ball is not officially a member of the Blue.

LiAngelo Ball, not a heralded prospect like his brothers, committed to UCLA out of high school. He was suspended days before UCLA's season opener in his freshman season after he and two teammates were arrested for shoplifting in China. The team was in China to play Georgia Tech. Ball and his two teammates later admitted to the incident.

Ball withdrew from UCLA in December 2017 without playing a game for the Bruins.

The 21-year-old forward most recently played for the Los Angeles Ballers, a team in the Junior Basketball Association founded by LaVar Ball, LiAngelo's father. The JBA folded after one season

Lonzo Ball, the No. 2 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, is in his third NBA season and his first with the Pelicans.

LaMelo Ball plays for the Illawarra Hawks in the Australian-based National Basketball League. Lamelo Ball, 18, is the No. 1 prospect in the 2020 NBA Draft class, according to ESPN
