High school football: Bixby's Brennan Presley named Oklahoma Gatorade Player of the Year
Bixby star wide receiver and defensive back Brennan Presley has been named the Oklahoma Gatorade Player of the Year, it was announced Friday.
Presley is the first player from Bixby to win the award.
The 5-foot-9, 168-pound star has caught 82 passes for 1,398 yards and 23 touchdowns and recorded seven interceptions, returning two for scores. He was selected to the Oklahoman's All-State team as a junior.
As a part of Gatorade’s cause marketing platform “Play it Forward,” Presley has the opportunity to award a $1,000 grant to a local or national youth sports organization of his choosing. He is also eligible to submit an essay to win one of twelve $10,000 spotlight grants for the organization of choice, which will be announced throughout the year.
Presley is committed to Oklahoma State, where he will play wide receiver.
Bixby is 12-0 this season and playing Stillwater at 7 p.m. Friday in the Class 6A-II state championship game at UCO's Wantland Stadium.
