Vote in The Oklahoman's Fans' Choice Player of the Week poll
As the lights get brighter and games become more important, the performances continue to pick up.
The Oklahoman's Fans' Choice Player of the Week poll for the top performances by players across the state is now live. Fans can vote before it closes at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Results of the poll will appear in Wednesday's edition of The Oklahoman.
Fans can vote at oklahoman.com/sports/high-school.
Here are the candidates for Player of the Week:
Kentrell Bizzell, RB, Carl Albert: The budding sophomore’s great season continued in a 24-0 win against Piedmont. He rushed for 128 yards on 23 carries with two touchdowns to help Carl Albert avenge its only loss this season.
Carson Funk, QB/DB, Davenport: The junior was stellar in Davenport’s 54-0 mercy-rule victory against Pioneer. Funk completed 5-of-8 passes for 122 yards and a touchdown. He also had a pair of two-point conversion passes with 18 rushing yards and a score. Defensively, he had two pass deflections, one fumble recovery and one interception.
Asher Link, QB, Metro Christian: Link was dominant in Tulsa Metro Christian’s dominant 55-13 win against Washington. He accounted for eight touchdowns, four passing and four rushing, while passing for 344 yards and rushing for 128.
Dominic Richardson, RB, McGuinness: The senior was stellar in the Fighting Irish’s 48-22 win against Tulsa Kelley. He rushed 25 times for 237 yards and three touchdowns. He also completed 2-of-3 passes for 6 yards and had a 23-yard reception.
T.J. Roberts, RB, Cashion: The senior tallied three touchdowns on the ground during the Wildcats’ 28-6 win at Barnsdall in the Class A quarterfinals Friday night. He did so on 13 carries while collecting 64 yards.
Blake Skidgel, RB, Pawnee: Skidgel scored his first of five touchdowns on a 52-yard scamper, and Pawnee never looked back in a 64-7 win against Mangum. Skidgel finished with 173 yards on 14 carries.
