High school football: Asher Link accounts for 8 TDs, Metro Christian routs Washington

Asher Link was nearly unstoppable.

Tulsa Metro Christian's star senior quarterback accounted for all eight touchdowns in the No. 1 Patriots' 55-13 win against No. 3 Washington on Friday in the Class 2A quarterfinals. He completed 14-of-20 passes for 344 yards and four scores while rushing 18 times for 128 yards and for more touchdowns.

Last year, the two teams met in the quarterfinals with Metro Christian's offense running out the final five minutes of game time in a one-score win. On Friday, Link and Co. took over from the first snap, dominating their way to the semifinals.

The Patriots (13-0) also have a rematch in the semifinals against Beggs (11-2). Last season, the Golden Demons escaped with a 33-28 victory.
