Sunday Morning Extra with Helen Ford Wallace: Bachelors Club issues invites
Bachelors Club members invited 29 young women to be debutantes for the 74th annual Christmas Ball. BC members arrived at the women’s homes by limousine on Thanksgiving Day and presented them with an invitation and roses and toasted them with a glass of Champagne. They will be presented at the ball on Dec. 22 at the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club. Debutantes will be escorted by Bachelors Club members. Souled Out Band will play and the evening will end with a late breakfast.
Citizens Caring for Children will be the recipient of the proceeds of this year’s ball and that nonprofit group was designated by club president Sam Jackson. Also this year, two nonprofit organizations, Transition House Inc., and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, will receive gifts of $10,000 each in honor of Judy Lehmbeck, who has organized the ball for the last 28 years. Last year was her last one as ball chairman. Taking over for Lehmbeck this year is Erika Mattison. Mattison worked in corporate events for nine years and lives in Oklahoma City with her husband and son.
