Sunday Morning: Dec. 1, 2019; Helen Ford Wallace
Event: Committee members of the Winter Ball met at Sody Clement’s home to pick up the carefully sorted bundles of invitations so they could hand-deliver them. The ball benefits Oklahoma Contemporary.
The invitation: The invitation gave the first hint of the ball’s theme. It is a pastel-colored invitation that folds out so veranda windows and a water scene show through. Susan McPherson did the original painting.

Committee members are Marilyn Balyeat, Barbara Beeler, Leigh Bentley, Kathy Brown, Mindy Brown, Kristine Browne, Katherine Buxton, Clements, Peggy Duncan, Christy Everest, Shirley Everest, Mary FitzSimons, Joan Frates, Molly Fuhrman, Julia Hall, Aimee Harlow, Holly Healey, Seyan Hefner, Millie Hightower, Whitney Hooten, Katie James, Carol Joullian, Lynn Kelly, Sherrie Kite, Sally Lenz, Bebe MacKellar, Susan McPherson, Marilyn Meade, Polly Nichols, Susan Parker, Libby Payne, Lisa Pierce, Marianne Rooney, Sally Starling, Marion Story, Lela Sullivan, Kathy Walker and Casey Williams.
STAR IN TOWN — PIONEER WOMAN EXTRA!
Book signing party: Ree Drummond, of Pawhuska, was at Full Circle Book Store last weekend for the book signing of her new cookbook “The Pioneer Woman Cooks: The New Frontier." The blogger, author, TV personality and entrepreneur graciously signed books, took photos with her fans, and sincerely thanked the people who stood in long lines waiting for her signature on their books.
About the book: The beautiful book features 112 detailed recipes. There are food photographs mostly by her, but some by a couple of her children and friends. Her delightful commentary is sprinkled throughout the cookbook. It is dedicated to Alex, Paige, Bryce and Todd, children of Ree and Ladd. She says, “You’re the center of my frontier, and I love you so much. Mom.”
