Oklahoma football: Austin Kendall 'disappointed' at West Virginia
West Virginia quarterback Jarret Doege has played well in two starts and apparently has solidified the position going forward, at the expense of OU transfer Austin Kendall.
“I haven’t made any decision long-term on quarterbacks, but I do think Jarret has played well,” WVU coach Neal Brown said.
Doege, a transfer from Bowling Green, completed 28 of 38 passes for 307 yards and a touchdown Saturday in a 20-13 loss to Oklahoma State. A week earlier, he completed 20 of 30 for 234 yards and three touchdowns in a 24-20 upset of Kansas State.
“He’s managed the game well, he’s been really efficient as a passer, thought he played well under duress Saturday,” Brown said.

Kendall started the first nine games for the Mountaineers. He completed 61.5 percent of his passes for 1,989 yards, 12 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
“Austin’s been disappointed, but he’s handled it fine,” Brown said.
