The NBA fined Lakers guard Rajon Rondo $35,000 for an incident involving Thunder guard Dennis Schroder, the league announced Saturday.

Rondo received a Flagrant Foul 2 an was ejected about a minute and a half into the fourth quarter of the Thunder's 130-127 loss to the Lakers Friday. As Los Angles's LeBron James brought the ball up the floor, Schroder matched up on Rondo. While uninvolved in the play, Rondo lifted his right leg in between Schroder’s legs to give a blow below the belt. Schroder winced. The whistle blew.

Rondo and Schroder had been jawing back and forth all game, in one case resulting in double technical fouls.

After a review, the officials handed down a Flagrant 2 and ejected Rondo. Before leaving the court, Rondo made his rounds to talk to multiple officials, until his teammates and coaches ushered him off the floor. James also appeared to argue Rondo's case to official Ed Malloy.

The league fined Rondo for making unsportsmanlike physical contact with Schroder, “verbal abuse” of a game official, and failing to leave the court in a timely matter.
