STILLWATER — Oklahoma State kicker Matt Ammendola had a rare off day in No. 23 Oklahoma State’s 31-13 over Kansas.

He missed 3 of 4 field goals, including a 26-yarder early in the fourth quarter.

“You know punters and kickers today for us weren’t very good,” OSU coach Mike Gundy said. “We didn't punt very well and we didn't kick very well. Sometimes they don't play as good.

A semifinalist for the Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award, Ammendola entered having made all but one of his 15 attempts this season. He missed one two weeks ago against TCU, snapping a streak of 16 straight that dated back to the 2018 season.

But Saturday he missed from 45, 44 and 26, all to the left in some fashion.

Gundy still has faith in Ammendola, though.

“I have all the confidence in the world in ‘Dola,” Gundy said. “He's had better days and I would guess that he'll come back and have good days from here on out.”
