High school football: Southmoore's Jeremy Stark resigns after 6 seasons
Southmoore football coach Jeremy Stark has resigned after six seasons as head coach, he told The Oklahoman on Monday.
The Norman Transcript was first to report Stark's resignation.
Stark was a football coach at Southmoore since 2010. He was an assistant coach for two seasons, then became a coordinator for two before taking over as head coach in 2014. He finishes with a 23-40 career record, including three playoff appearances.
Stark told The Oklahoman he informed the team this afternoon of his decision. The SaberCats finished the season 1-9. Stark plans to remain teaching the rest of the semester before deciding his next chapter.
"It was time for a change," Stark said. "I felt like it was time for me to step away and give somebody else a shot. Going to sit down with my family, my wife, and get a good game plan together."
Stark was Southmoore's third head coach in school history.
