High school football: Noble wins first district title since 2003
Noble clinched its first district title since 2003 after its victory Friday.
The Bears knocked off defending Class 5A runner-up Ardmore, 42-28, to clinch the District 5A-1 crown. After going 4-6 last season and missing the playoffs, Noble is 8-1 in 2019 with an unblemished district record.
"Every time you do this, you've got to have a few breaks here and there," coach Greg George said. "Last year, we didn't make the plays sometimes. This year, we've made them when we needed to."
George said Austin Fisher has been great as a dual-threat quarterback, saying his versatility has helped the offense be versatile in any situation.
