OSU football: Cowboy punt coverage team will be tested by TCU's Jalen Reagor

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy was quick to mention how dangerous TCU receiver Jalen Reagor is when Gundy opened his weekly news conference Monday.

Gundy knows his defense must be aware of Reagor’s location on the field at all times, because of how dynamic he is when he gets the ball.

That includes punt returns, which will be a match of strengths.

Though it’s not an often-discussed statistic, Oklahoma State ranks third nationally in punt return defense. The Cowboys have allowed two yards on seven punt returns this season.

Freshman Tom Hutton is averaging 39.4 yards per punt, with 17 of his 37 kicks being downed inside the 20 and only one going for a touchback.

Reagor is averaging 19.3 yards on 12 punt returns, including one for a 73-yard touchdown.
