High school track: Cashion star Madelyn McCabe commits to Southeastern Louisiana

Cashion track star Madelyn McCabe has made her college decision.

McCabe, a two-time state champion in the high jump, announced Thursday that she was committing to Southeastern Louisiana.

McCabe chose Southeastern Louisiana over offers Oklahoma State and Pittsburg State, among many others.

McCabe was a pivotal piece in helping the Cashion girls win their first state track title in 2018. She won gold in the high jump, silver in the long jump and was the anchor on the 400 and 800 relay teams. In June, she won a silver medal in the girls heptathlon at the Great Southwest Track & Field Classic in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
