High school softball: Carl Albert, El Reno dominate District 5A-1 awards

Carl Albert and El Reno have no shortage of players on the Class 5A-1 All-District team.

Carl Albert's Zadie LaValley (Player of the Year), Aerin Talley (Offensive Player of the Year) and Hannah Williams (Pitcher of the Year) along with El Reno's Chenoa White (Co-Newcomer of the Year) were honored as some of the district's best. El Reno coach Davey Deaton was recognized as Coach of the Year.

Piedmont won the Class 5A state championship Saturday, topping Carl Albert in eight innings.

Here's a breakdown of the team:

Player of The Year: Zadie LaValley, Carl Albert

Pitcher of The Year: Hannah Williams, Carl Albert

Offensive Player of The Year: Aerin Talley, Carl Albert

Defensive Player of The Year: Lauren Blankenship, Ardmore
