High school football: Casady to play at the University of North Texas
Casady will face John Cooper (The Woodlands, Texas) at the University of North Texas on Friday.
This is the third straight year Casady (1-4) will play at Apogee Stadium in Denton.
Casady coach Koby Scoville said his team is always excited to compete in the unique setting. A lot of his players will stay in the area to attend the Oklahoma-Texas football game in Dallas on Saturday.
“We try to do it OU-Texas weekend because both schools have families that end up staying in Dallas anyway for the game,” Scoville said. “It was a neat idea, and it has fortunately worked out.”
Casady, which plays an independent football schedule, defeated Cistercian (Irving, Texas) 34-6 last week. Cistercian fell to 3-3 on the season. Casady’s Caleb Campbell caught two touchdown passes and returned an interception 90 yards for a score.
The Cyclones will try to build on their first win of the season.
John Cooper is 4-2 this year.
