High school football: Tulsa Kelley's Cori Lewis commits to Army
Tulsa Kelley wide receiver and defensive back Cori Lewis' high school career ended sooner than he would've liked.
A torn anterior cruciate ligament in Tulsa Kelley's first game hampered his plans for a breakout year. He tried to play on it against Tulsa Edison last Thursday, even catching a touchdown pass, but a second-half collision would end his season.
Yet he will continue playing football at the next level. Lewis announced Sunday on Twitter that he committed to Army.
At 5-foot-8, 165 pounds, Lewis was effective in many ways for a Tulsa Kelley with championship aspirations before the season. Along with Lewis, Oklahoma State commit Zach Middleton is out for the year. He played in only one game after offseason knee surgery. Montrell Cozart is also out for the year.
Tulsa Kelley is 2-3 this season with a 1-1 mark in District 5A-3.
