CONGRATULATIONS, TRICIA!
Luncheon: Tricia Everest was honored at a luncheon in the home of Judy Love. Hostesses were Love, Cathy Keating, Jane Jayroe Gamble, Ann Johnstone and Nancy Ellis. The women invited friends to congratulate Tricia on her upcoming induction into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame and the Oklahoma City University Meinders Hall of Honor.
At lunch: Keating gave remarks about the honoree and Gamble gave the invocation. Blue and purple hydrangeas and white roses were on the tables and lunch was chicken pasta with Caesar salad and raspberry cake.
Seen: Among those at the party were Carrie Blumert, Kathy Brown, Martha Burger, Susan Edwards, Shirley Everest, Kim Garrett, Jennifer Grigsby, Kirk Hammons, Ann Hargis, Aimee Harlow, Jane Harlow, Sue Homsey, Lawre Morrow and Kasey Simms.
SWINGS HIT THE RIGHT NOTES
Donor reception: 200 guests were at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation’s reception and grand opening of The Musical Swings at Bicentennial Park, 500 Couch Dr. The Musical Swings are free and open to the public through Oct. 13 as a gift from the Community Foundation to celebrate its 50th anniversary.
GIRL SCOUT TEA
Kickoff tea: Members of the Juliette Low Leadership Society luncheon committee met for a tea at the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club. They discussed plans for the year and announced the speaker for the Feb. 20 JLLS luncheon. Speaker is Cathy Guisewite, creator of Cathy, the cartoon in 1,400 newspapers. Joan Gilmore is the honorary chairman. Matilda Clements and Amy Crowley are chairmen.
GETTING THE BALL ROLLING
Party: Geetika Verma, honorary chairman for the Maestro Ball, was hostess for a henna party in her home for friends and a few Orchestra League members who were attending the ball the next night. Guests got henna tattoos from Rashmi Kanwar. The hostess had books of ideas for the special designs. Verma also provided them with special India-inspired appetizers and desserts created by her mother, Jogi Mehrishi. The theme for the ball was "Silks and Saris."
SETTING THE BAR HIGH
Occasion: A crowd of people filled chefs Fabio Viviani’s and Jonathon Stranger’s newest restaurant, Bar Cicchetti, 121 NE 2, a modern Italian restaurant and sports bar, at one of the opening parties. It is in the former Urban Johnnie’s location and has been preparing signature cocktails paired with great dishes since the doors opened.
