High school football: Oklahoma Christian School gets first win of season
Against a strong wind, Oklahoma Christian School (1-3) got its first win of the season, beating Crossings Christian (2-3) 8-0 on Friday.
Defense was the highlight of the game for both teams, with neither offense able to find the end zone.
“The ball was sailing quite a bit with the wind,” OCS coach Derek Turner said. “And so it was real difficult for both quarterbacks to control it.”
Turner said the heavy wind impacted both team’s play calling, and there was a total of five interceptions in the game. OCS scored on a 95-yard kickoff return in the third quarter and a safety in the fourth quarter.

“To be able to come away with a win… it was a good feeling,” Turner said. “A good momentum builder.”
OCS will look to keep the momentum going against Newkirk (0-4, 0-1 District 2A-1) on Oct. 4.
