MIDWEST CITY — Carl Albert (4-0) beat Guymon (0-4) 63-0 in the Titan's homecoming game.

Here are five takeaways from the game:

1. Big plays key for Carl Albert

The Titans had several big plays, especially in the first half. Carl Albert scored on every offensive possession, and took three plays or less to find the end zone on four of its seven drives.

Quarterback Ben Harris was 5-of-7 for 178 yards, and running back Javion Hunt added 68 yards on the ground.

"We've got talent out there," coach Mike Corley said. "Ben hit them, and they made the catch or they made the run."

2. Carl Albert scored on all three sides of the ball

Carl Albert scored at least one touchdown on offense, defense and special teams.

The offense scored on all seven of its possessions. On defense, Reise Collier recovered a fumble and ran it back for a touchdown. Jayveion Traylor returned a punt 73 yards for a score on special teams.

3. Backups take over for Titans in second half

Carl Albert was able to get its stars some rest early on.

Houston Russell went in at quarterback late in the second quarter. Kentrell Bizzell had most of the carries in the second half, rushing for 58 yards in total.

Corley said the playing time those players were able to get will pay off down the road.

4. Guymon ran more plays than Carl Albert

The Tigers snapped the ball 41 times in the loss, while Carl Albert only had to run 28 plays.

"Our guys did what we needed to do as far as getting better," Corley said.

5. Looking ahead

Continuing district play, Guymon will take on Guthrie at home on Oct. 4.

Carl Albert will travel to Piedmont as it looks to continue its undefeated streak.
