Lexington Middle School football player dies Tuesday after game

Lexington Middle School football player Riley Boatwright died Tuesday after playing a game at Stratford, Lexington High School football coach Dale Berglan confirmed to The Oklahoman Tuesday night.

Lexington High is a Class 2A school about 45 minutes from Oklahoma City.

When reached, Lexington Public Schools Superintendent Chad Hall was unable to provide comment.

A cause of death was not immediately known.

News of Boatwright's death traveled quickly throughout the Oklahoma football community Tuesday night.
