Tracee Ellis Ross launches hair care line for natural curls
Actress Tracee Ellis Ross is getting into the hair care business, and it should come as no surprise what type of hair she’s targeting
Phase one of her new line, called Pattern Beauty, features seven products all catered to coily, curly and tightly textured hair, according to WWD.
Ross’ natural curls are the envy of many, and with good reason. Her natural hair is healthy, luscious and bouncy.
Pattern focuses on hair types 3B to 4C and will launch in Ulta stores and on patternbeauty.com Sept. 9. Those with curls and coils probably know their hair type. These products are so important to Ross hat she tested more than 70 samples on her own hair to come up with the initial product launch.
“Pattern is the result of 20 years of dreaming, 10 years in the making (I wrote my first brand pitch in 2008, right when girlfriends finished) and 2 years of working with chemists,” she wrote on Instagram. “I’m so excited to share this with y’all.”
The collection includes two serums, there conditioners of varying strengths, a leave-in conditioner, shampoo, hair clip, microfiber towel and a shower brush. Prices range from $9 to $42.
“Pattern Beauty is for those of us who need more than a quarter size of product. Large conditioner sizes that actually fulfill the unmet needs of our community. Accessible pricing because everyone should have access to their most beautiful hair in their own shower, and gorgeous packaging that conjures the legacy of our history and makes us all feel like the royalty that we are,” she said when announcing the brand.
