Texas Tech quarterback Alan Bowman was a freshman sensation in 2018 – 69.4 completion percentage, 17 touchdowns and seven interceptions. But a scary collapsed lung ended Bowman’s season.

New Tech coach Matt Wells says Bowman has been cleared and is doing well.

“I’ve been told there’s no reason for concern as far as repeat injuries,” said Wells. “Not more than usual. I do recognize it’s a unique injury, but he’s fully cleared, ready to go.”

With Bowman, Tech was 4-4, including a 51-46 loss to OU in which Tech had a 31-28 halftime lead before Bowman left the game. Without Bowman, Tech was 1-3, and head coach Kliff Kingsbury was fired.
