Running appreciation for Redbud retiree
Celebration breakfast: Patty Anthony, Redbud Classic Executive Race director for the past 14 years, was honored at the annual Sponsorship Appreciation Breakfast. She retired in June. The Redbud Board of Directors and the Renaissance Waterford Hotel were hosts for the celebration breakfast at the hotel, which is a longtime Redbud sponsor. Other Redbud sponsors, sitting board members and advisory board members attended.
Special gifts: A quilt made from t-shirts from each of the 14 races that Anthony organized was presented to the honoree. The board also gave her a plate with the Redbud logo with an inscription thanking her for her service on the back.
Other business: The Redbud Classic, Oklahoma City’s oldest local racing tradition, presented $15,000 check from its 2019 race to Teach for America — Oklahoma City. Sara Sweet is the incoming executive director. The next race is set for April 4-5, 2020.

Reunion reception: Barbara and Ralph Thompson were hosts for a reception honoring Chantal Manes-Bonnisseau. The honoree and her husband, Jacques Bonnisseau, were visiting from Paris, France. She and Jennifer Robinson Bartkoski, Desa Dawson and Charlotte Jones met in Amiens, France, 10 years ago to work out a partnership between the Oklahoma State Department of Education and the Academie d’Amiens, the school system in the region of Picardie, France. Chantal created Oklahoma’s student reciprocal exchange with the Academie d’Amiens and the Eleanor Kirkpatrick Alliance Francaise Franco-American Fellows. She is head of Living Languages in France’s National Ministry of Education, Paris.
Artful opening
Open house: A reception was held at JRB Art at the Elms to honor the new exhibitions. The event featured Janice Matthew Gordon’s “All My Sisters” and Kathy Rodgers “From My Garden.” Guests enjoyed the signature drink of the evening of mojito cocktails.

Historic get-together
Luncheon/workshop: Members of the Oklahoma Society Colonial Dames XVII Century gathered for their state workshop at the Quail Creek Golf and Country Club. State President Carma Jenkins officiated. The Knights of Canterbury presented a re-enactment of Middle Ages sports. Tables were decorated with summer flowers and mint green linens.
