ENCHANTED EVENING
Reception/preview: 200 exhibition sponsors and sustainer members for the Oklahoma City Museum of Art were at the “Van Gogh, Monet, Degas” early access preview and reception. Mayor David Holt gave remarks and Colleen Yarger, Curatorial Assistant for European Art and the Mellon Collections and Interim Head of the Department for European Art at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, gave a lecture.
Ambience: Guests were greeted by a string quartet by Laura Naturally, LLC, playing a variety of classical French music and jazz. Deep purple and blue flowers decorated the room, which also had lights in pale blue and purple. White floral centerpieces were on the cocktail tables.
CONGRATULATIONS ANN
Occasion: Ann Ackerman was recognized as the 109th president of The Rotary Club of Oklahoma at the inaugural event at Sanctuary Asia at the Oklahoma City Zoo. Dwight Lawson, the zoo's executive director, was host.
Guests: 275 Rotarians, friends and family members attended. Open World participants from the Republic of North Macedonia also attended.
Entertainment: Music was by STK Entertainment and there was a special elephant performance.
Committee: The evening was planned by Beth Kerr, chairman; Dwight Lawson, Lance McDaniel, Betsy Brunsteter, Ron Perry, Connie Schlittler, Kathleen Stevenson, Lisa Synar, Marnie Taylor and Penny Voss.
HONORING LARA AND BOONE
Wedding shower: Lara Switzer and Boone Ellis II were honored at a wedding shower in the home of Theresa Stringer. Hosts were Donna and Len Cason, Karen Delaney, Julie Hall, Kym Mason, Mary and Stan Stack, Theresa Stringer and Dan Bansen.
Hearts: Guests had a dinner of grilled chicken and smoked brisket with seasonal vegetables, with heart-shaped iced petit fours for dessert. Stoller wines and Chandon Champagne were served.
Wedding: The engaged couple will be married in August in Oregon.
AGD SALAD SUPPER
Party: Members of the Oklahoma City Alpha Gamma Delta Alumni Club met for a salad supper in the home of Keri Thompson Eakle, club president. It was the end of the year meeting. Angela Elliott Houck gave the program on self-awareness and self-preservation.
Other activities: During the year, the group had a flower arranging workshop that raised funds for the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. Other fundraisers were given for the Alpha Gamma Delta chapter houses at the University of Oklahoma and the University of Central Oklahoma for recruitment. Club members also funded three scholarships for middle school girls to attend the recent Southwestern Oklahoma State University Sage STEAM Camp. Lesley Pollock-Noller was Alpha Gam’s Panhellenic Woman of the Year and was honored at the Panhellenic luncheon in the spring.
