Oklahoma City says warning sirens have been repaired

Oklahoma City officials say 18 nonworking warning sirens have been fixed.

The 18 (of 182 total) likely were damaged in recent storms.

Plans are to run the system-wide regular weekly test at noon Saturday.

The city recommended previously that anyone who can usually hear a siren during a test, but doesn’t hear a siren during Saturday’s test, should call 231-2121 to report it.

Sirens are tested audibly every Saturday, unless there is a severe weather threat. Saturday's outlook is for generally sunny skies, with highs in the upper 80s and a slight chance of thunderstorms.

Sirens are tested silently every weekday.
