American Airlines announces nonstop flights from Oklahoma City to Miami
Oklahoma City is getting a new option for air travel to south Florida, connecting to destinations in the Caribbean and Latin America.
American Airlines is beginning nonstop service to Miami International Airport in December, expanding the availability of direct flights to major destinations from Will Rogers World Airport.
With the new service, American will have an average of 25 daily departures from Will Rogers.
Miami-bound flights are to depart at 5:22 a.m., arriving at 9:22 a.m.
Oklahoma City-bound flights will leave Miami at 9:42 p.m. and arrive at Will Rogers at 12:22 a.m.
Tickets go on sale Monday, May 13, for service beginning Dec. 18.
When the service begins, American will be flying nonstop from Will Rogers to Miami, Dallas-Fort Worth, Chicago, Charlotte, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Phoenix, and Washington National.
American opened 15 new gates this month at Dallas-Fort Worth for the addition of more than 100 daily American Eagle flights.
American's expansion at DFW includes service to 23 new destinations and frees up six gates for larger aircraft.
