Racist graffiti found at Norman school and Democratic office
Racist graffiti was found Wednesday morning at three buildings in Norman, including an elementary school and the county's Democratic Party office.
Last week similar graffiti messages were found at the Oklahoma Democratic Party and Chickasaw Nation buildings in Oklahoma City.
The Norman Transcript reported Wednesday morning that spray-painted swastikas, ethnic slurs, and other racist graffiti was found at Norman's Firehouse Art Center, McKinley Elementary and the Cleveland County Democratic Party Headquarters.
A note was found at the Democratic Party office that said, "White men have built this civilization. White men have been and still are the backbone."
In a Wednesday morning post on Facebook, the Cleveland County Democratic Party said "This kind of hatred is not in alignment with our values or the values of any decent human being."
Norman Public Safety Information Officer Sarah Jensen told the Transcript that investigators are on the scene and are currently working with the Oklahoma City Police Department to determine if the incidents are connected.
