Can you create a wedding dress from toilet paper?
Creative types, here’s your chance to win up to $10,000.
All you need to do is create a wedding gown made of toilet paper.
That’s right, toilet paper.
Not just any toilet paper though. CharmWeddings.com, previously known as Cheap-Chic-Weddings.com, has teamed once again with the makers of Quilted Northern.
The contest has been an annual event since 2004, challenging creative minds to create a wearable, on-trend wedding dress and headpiece from only toilet paper, glue, tape and needle and thread.
“This year, we have opened up categories for our contestants to enter into,” said Susan Bain, contest co-creator. New categories include traditional, modern and cultural.
The top 12 dresses and their designers will be flown to New York this summer to participate in a runway fashion show and finale event. Representatives of Charm Weddings and Quilted Northern as well as celebrity judges will judge each design.
The first prize winner will take home $10,000 while the second and third prize winners will receive $5,000 and $2,500 respectively.
Deadline for entries is May 22. For official rules and entry form, go to tpdresscontest.com or charmweddings.com. To help keep costs down, Quilted Northern will be providing coupons for the creations. For a coupon, email email@example.com.
