PANHELLENIC SPRING TEA
Tea: Greater Oklahoma City Alumnae Panhellenic Association members were hosts for the annual spring tea for high school senior women and their parents. It was at The Greens Country Club.
Trending: The students learned about sorority life on a university campus. Guests learned about the recruitment process and how to be involved in the Greek community. There also was a fashion show of appropriate fall formal recruitment clothing and a question-and-answer panel of sorority representatives from the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University, University of Central Oklahoma and Oklahoma City University.
WATCHING THE OSCARS
Party: A group of people who met for years to watch the Oscars missed last year but were back again this year at Rococo’s Northpark. It was a benefit for City Rep.
Hosts: The usual hosts for this event, Kevin Winsell, Charlie Monnot, Kym Koch Thompson, Karen Kurtz and Jodi Nestander, were there, along with City Rep Theater hosts Ruth Charney, Jon Haque, Brenda Mendoza and Sheridan McMichael.
Mix it up: Rocco’s Oscar food menu included Roma Tomato Skewers (Roma); Mary Poppin’ Fresh Dough (Mary Poppins Returns); Bohemian Raspberries (Bohemian Rhapsody); A Starfish Tuna is Born (A Star is Born) and for the actors: “Lada Gaga Fingers “ and “Spike Lee-mon Bars.
TOWN HALL SPEAKER HONORED
Dinner: Joe Kernke, Jeanne Anne Van Horn and Alan Webb were hosts at Quail Creek Golf & Country Club for a dinner honoring television producer and writer Nancy Miller. She was the guest speaker the next day at the Town Hall Lecture Series.
Seen: At dinner were Dadie and Bob Bishop, Carleen and Jerry Burger, Sue and John Francis, Carolyn Bean, Jack Ransom, Judy and George McDowell, Ursula Lewis, Marie and Dr. Earl Miller, Jan and Dr. Richard Smith, Darlene Wynne, Jean and Joe Burke, Molly and Paul Wehrenberg, Dawn and Ted Hopkins, Patti and Bill Birchall, and Cindy and Mike Meador.
She’s got it: Miller lived in Los Angeles for 36 years and was a producer for “Against the Wall.” She created the series “Saving Grace” and “Leaving LA” series. She now lives in Oklahoma City.
PROCEEDS IN
Gala: The Boots & Ball Gowns Gala benefiting Infant Crisis Services raised $580,000 for needy babies and toddlers. The event was held in February at The Criterion. Presenting sponsors were The Chickasaw Nation, MidFirst Bank and the Ketchum Charitable Foundation. Ivy Pierce and Becky Taylor were co-chairmen.
FOR REACH OUT AND READ OKLAHOMA
Event: Marc Brockhaus and Mark Mann from the Onward Oklahoma Foundation presented a check to Marny Dunlap of Reach Out and Read Oklahoma. The proceeds were raised from the foundation’s annual Oklahoma City Charity Scotch Tasting event.
