Simply stunning … look at that Tiffany Diamond
People are still talking about the Oscars – the winners, the speeches, the performances … and the legendary Tiffany Diamond.
Lady Gaga’s neck bling was a stunner, simply breathtaking. The Tiffany Diamond, all 128.54 carats, was impossible to miss. It was the first time on the red carpet since Tiffany bought it in 1878, and the first time seen in public since actress Audrey Hepburn wore it for a “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” publicity shoot in 1961.
The diamond was unearthed in 1877 in South Africa.
And it was a natural fit for Lady Gaga, “the ultimate creator, innovator and rule breaker,” said Reed Krakoff, chief artistic officer of Tiffany & Co.
The necklace is set in platinum with 16 cushion-cut diamonds, 46 round brilliant diamonds and, of course, the fancy yellow diamond centerpiece weighing in at more than 128 carats.
