Sunday Morning: Feb. 3, 2019: Helen Ford Wallace
Event: Dr. R. Kevin Moore was inaugurated as the 118th President of the Oklahoma County Medical Society at the OCMS Inaugural Dinner at the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club. 200 physicians and guests attended.
Top billing: Moore attended the University of Oklahoma and OU College of Medicine and completed a residency at Children's Hospital of Oklahoma. He was in private practice on the INTEGRIS Baptist Campus and was chairman of the Department of Pediatrics for many years.
Perfect entertainment: The band was zero2sixty and prior to dancing, people had a steak and fried chicken dinner. Flowers were set on black cloths and featured red, purple, green and white flowers surrounded by candlelight.
Preserving a legacy: Dr. Hanna A. Saadah was presented the Don F. Rhinehart Community Service Award by Dr. Sam Dahr.
CHECKING THE MOUND
Only in OKC: Prior to The Warren Spahn Awards Gala, a media session was held in the Centennial Room of the Skirvin Hotel. Blake Snell, Tampa Bay, the best left-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball, was in town to receive the Warren Spahn trophy. The large trophy was given to him at the Gala sponsored by the Bricktown Rotary Club and Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame.
Stars on hand: At the podium along with Snell, were Michele Smith, Ferguson Jenkins, Greg Spahn (Warren's son) and emcee of the press conference Bob Carpenter. They all gave brief speeches. Two other awards are named for Smith and Jenkins and were presented to outstanding student athletes at the Gala.

A field of supporters: Everyone wanted their photo taken with Snell and his new 40-pound trophy sculpted by artist Shan Gray. Snell left the next day for New York City to be honored. He was awarded the 2018 American League Cy Young Award.
Party: “Bringing the World to Oklahoma” was the slogan of the Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art annual Gala. The Medieval-themed event also celebrated the Museum's collection of art.
Enchanted evening: Areas of the museum were transformed into a medieval castle for the banquet and auction. Some guests wore period costumes. They were encouraged to visit the Middle Ages treasures on display in the museum. Proceeds support children's education programs.
Reception: During Paseo's First Friday Art Walk, JRB Art at the Elms featured whimsical paintings, drawings, and prints of the nine Oklahoma artists selected by exhibition curator, George Oswalt.
Healthy eating: A colorful vegetarian food spread was served to guests created by Ryan Parrott, Picasso Café.
At the event: Guests included Liz Hahn, Kelley Barnes, Sheryl Lovelady, Meloyde Blancett, John Wolfe, Nick Hermes, Rea Baldridge, Betty Lou Sisson, Mark Sisson, Burt Harrison, Kathleen Blake, Dino Galivantos, Beth Hammack, Mark Lewis, Sally Bentley, Pam Troup, Liz Eickman, Marvin Quinn, Nancy Anthony and Bob Anthony.
