THE KING'S DINNER
Celebration: Susan Parker and Drew Neville were hosts for The King's Dinner honoring the Beaux Arts Ball Court of 2018. They invited the debutantes, escorts, ball committee members, former kings, friends and family members to a Masters Golf Tournament-themed event at the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club. (The new King, Drew, has a great love of golf.)
Ambience: Golf caddies in Augusta National Golf Club attire opened the front doors of the Country Club. Master's flags were on the cocktail tables. There was a putting green (Bob Reece was one of the guests who made his putt on the first try) which was set up in Harry's Bar. Parker Douglass wore an authentic green Masters jacket that he picked up on Ebay. There was a huge bulletin board for table “pairings” and the list of winners from past tournaments included the names of former Beaux Arts Ball kings. Tables were named for former Masters winners and areas at Augusta National (Tiger Woods table, Ike's Tree, Amen Corner, Bobby Jones.) The ATL Groove Factory from Atlanta, Georgia, played the entire evening (no breaks) and people stopped eating to hurry to the dance floor. This band plays at parties given during the Masters. The flowers were spectacular and most of the centerpieces were anchored by trees with huge bouquets of roses at the base.
Southern style menu: Southern foods served were shrimp and grits, filet of beef, southern green beans and carmel cake and ice cream. Appetizers of pimento cheese sandwiches were served exactly as they are served at the Masters Tournament.
Guests: Among the guests were Drew's brothers and sisters-in-law, Judy Neville, Bob Neville, Diana Neville and Richard Neville; and other family members, including Amy Douglass, Parker Douglass, Steve Parker, Megan Parker, Bill Parker, Jan Parker, Richard Parker, Alexa Parker, Mark Parker, Lauren Sullivan, Andy Sullivan, Hayes Sullivan, Lucille Sullivan, Grant Sullivan and Rhett Sullivan.
OMRF CHRISTMAS EVENT
Party: Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation members held the annual Christmas party at the foundation. Guests were treated to a holiday buffet by Janie Morgan Catering. Bistro tables had black cloths with plaid toppers and flowers were white roses, pine cones and winter greenery surrounded by tea lights.
Guests: Among those at the party were Jeri Holmes, Jerome Holmes, Carl Edwards, Susan Edwards, Ann Gilliland, Bob Gilliland, Larry Nichols, Sharon Caroline, Mike Caroline, Elaine Levy, Harrison Levy, Tommy Gray, Scott Meacham, Ken Fergeson, Katy Evans Boren, Michael Joseph, Judy Hatfield, Len Cason, Gerald Gamble, Ann-Clore Duncan, Walt Duncan and Jack McClendon.
