OLE, CAITLIN
Bueno party: Caitlin Bentley was the honoree at a kitchen shower in the kitchen at the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club. Tables were set with Mexican tablecloths and Mexican pots held brightly-colored flowers. Caitlin will marry Robert Samis at the end of the month.
Hostesses: Hostesses were Samis's aunts, Shirley Everest, Susan Hoffman, Linda James and Karen Samis.
HONORING SARAH
Baby shower: Sarah Brown Bolding was honored at a baby shower in the home of Kirk Hammons. Co-hostesses were Angela Ferguson and Lori Payne. Sarah and husband Aaron Bolding's baby boy (Will) will be born in November.
Bundle of joy: The party's theme featured animals, including the elephant on the party invitation. A bouquet of white mums and hydrangeas, with yellow anemones and peach and coral roses was surrounded by toy tigers, elephants and leopards. An animal mobile hung over the centerpiece. There were animal print napkins.
Gifts: Candy Reece brought the honoree a monogrammed rocking elephant. Other gifts ranged from books, clothes and strollers. The hostesses gave the Boldings a Keurig for baby formula.
Menu: On the menu was a huge Cobb salad and animal-shaped cookies with blue icing.
BEAUX ARTS BALL FALL COFFEE
Event: The Beaux Arts Ball Fall Coffee was held at the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club. Mothers of this year's debutantes and escorts attended.
Highlights: Lindsay Graham, chairman of the Ball, welcomed guests and reports were given to help with preparations and logistics for the ball, which will be Nov. 24.
Vital mission: Michael Whittington, Oklahoma City Museum of Art president and CEO, thanked the committee and parents for their support of the museum. The OCMA is the beneficiary of the ball's proceeds.
Seen: Among those at the coffee were Graham, Margo Ward, co-chairman; Susan Jordan, ex officio; Anne Richmond, Chelle Greene, Elizabeth Platt, Janine Wheeler, Holly Carlin, Carrie Katigan, Alice Pippin, Elaine Price and Debbie Trachtenberg.
HONORING KARA AND BAXTER
Cause for celebration: Kara Bundren and Baxter Lewallen were honored at a dinner given by Jose Freede and Debby and Paul Dudman at the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club. The engaged couple will be married in November.
Food/flowers: Lovely bouquets of all shades of roses and orchids and bells of Ireland decorated the tables. Menu items included a sparkler-topped baked Alaska, heart-shaped potatoes and tenderloin of beef. Appetizers included caviar, smoked salmon and scotch quail eggs.
The blessing: The Rev. Patrick Bright gave a prayer for the couple for dinner and included a thank you for the quail eggs.
People: Among those at the party were Mary and Clark Bundren, Linda and James Stewart, Cindy and Michael Biddinger, Rhea and Patrick Bright, Natalie and Drew Haymaker, and D'Ann and Russell Crain.
CHAMPAGNE, CAMOMILE AND CELEBRATION
Elegant entertaining: Linda Haneborg was hostess in her beautiful new home of a tea to celebrate Charter 35 members Joan Gilmore and Willa Johnson, new inductees in the Oklahoma Women's Hall of Fame. Members of the group and former inductees Nancy Coats-Ashley, Kay Goebel, Lou Kerr, Mary Melon, Marion Paden, Patty Roloff and Meg Salyer were co-hostesses.
Food: On the menu were tea party items including egg salad, cucumber sandwiches, smoked salmon, pecan and pumpkin pie tarts, macaroons, and lemon and brownie bars. Iced tea, punch, wine and mimosas were served.
The right mix: Among the guests were Cathy and Frank Keating, and Steve McLaughlin.
