How to make life easier when flying out of OKC

For those looking to ease one of the more unpleasant aspects of modern post 9-11 air travel, there's an option that won't break the bank, and isn't much trouble either.

Will Rogers World Airport will host a TSA Pre-Check enrollment event from Sept. 17-21. Pre-Check allows flyers to bypass taking off their shoes, belts and light jackets. And if you have it, you also don't have to remove your laptop or liquids. There is also a special lane for Pre-Check passengers at dozens of airports in the United States.

Pre-Check costs $85 but it's good for five years. If you travel a lot, or even just a few times a year it's well worth the cost.

Travelers must provide finger prints, proof of citizenship and the application fee. Cash or personal checks will not be accepted.

The temporary enrollment center will be in the baggage claim area across from carousel five. Applicants do not need an airline ticket to access the application center. Hours of operation will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.to 6 p.m., Monday through Wednesday, and from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. and noon until 4 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.

Applicants should begin the process online at tsa.gov and then schedule an appointment at the WRWA temporary enrollment center.
