Parties, Etc. for Sunday, July 29th, 2018
Party: Maggie Bowker was honored at a prenuptial “Happy Hour” party in the home of Julie Tibbs. Hostesses were Tibbs, Debra Nix Hitzelberger, Kathy Neal and Patricia Nolan Dukes, all college friends of the mother-of-the bride, Lynn Theissen Bowker. Maggie and Hayden King will be married in September.
Summer flair: Flower arrangements of prickly pear cactuses with pink roses and carnations were on the tables. Wine was served from an ice sculpture with cactus and flowers. The party invitation featured pink flowers and cactuses.
The food: Curry chicken salad, pork tenderloin sliders and charcuterie were the menu items. Dessert was a strawberry cake with a vintage bride and groom topper and decorated sugar cookies. Rose sangria also was served.
Installation: Members of the Oklahoma Daughters of the American Revolution gathered in Ponca City at the E.W. Marland Mansion to celebrate the installation of State Regent Sue Allen. Ponca City DAR members (Allen's chapter) were hostesses.
Tables: A light luncheon of sandwiches, iced tea and desserts were served. Tables were decorated in red and white linens with Oklahoma- themed sculptures and place mats. Holly Bailey Pert preformed a selection of patriotic tunes.

Party to remember: 1956 graduates from Northwest Classen High School celebrated their 80th birthdays together at River Oaks Country Club. About 125 people attended the event. They had lunch, birthday cake and ice cream.
The people: The event was for everyone from the class who turned 80 this year. Among those attending (people from New York, Alabama and Texas, as well as Oklahoma) were Dale Crabtree, Suzy Eagleton Nicholson, Dee Carroll Gann, Marta Frost McGee, Nancy Hall Chockey, Betty Bowles Ashford, Ken Feiger, Donna Ensign Marshall, Janie Barnes Sneed, Dale Anderson, Lynda Henderson Vincent, Bill McAlister, Emily Fowler Omura, and Linda Lee Crocker.
